about:

When it comes to instrumental music you always seem to beconfronted with the question for intensity of emotional expression andimpeccable musicianship. All reception culminates in the fact if the band is able to fill the gap between music and language and if thecertain feeling they present reaches the audience. Or to make it morestraight: Does it suck you in? Will you join the band on their emotionalride? Even if we are all human beings with different needs anddifferent tastes a band gets us in this rare moment where we becomeone feeling organism and the atmoshere of sometimes just asoundscape draws a song that becomes our own in our own mind. These rare moments separate the good from the bad and create that feel where words seem to be not enough to describe. Bollo is a bandthat not only longs for such a moment. Their whole existence is basedon the search for this goal. And one can feel it. Ambitious to the bone their sounds draw an atmospheric, emotional landscape that is full of pictures and colours, ranging from deep melancholic moods through relaxing tunes up to raging riot in destructive volume – evocative, unpredictable and sinous. A brise of a perfectly arranged guitar licksways over a massive rhythm, infected by a cathartic transmission of honest emotions. The song builds up and gets focussed, opening door after door to a room full of different moods. It takes a look around, tastes a bit from everything and falls down, overwhelmed by themassive impression that these emotions deliver. It takes a deep breath and starts over again, now knowing, where to go, where to cream the broken soul with that healing device called music. This album canbecome a drug, no doubt. So what to write about it? More words for this album? Schnö, Jose and Tommi founded Bollo in 1996. After years of experimentingand finding new goals in musicthey self-released their debut “Bollo” in 2002. From 1996 on they toured like maniacs and played hundreds of shows with bands like Karate, Fugazi, Barra Head, Monochrome, Diario and worked with video and film projects. Parallel to their work as a band they composed, arrangedand produced music for films and theatre performances and grew a driving force in East Germany’s underground and avantgarde scene.
