Yage started spring '98 in Cologne, Germany, and if you ask us, they achieved pretty much in this period of time. The debut
7" came out in february'99 and they started to play shows, getting more and more attention and developing their own
style. Do you remember a couple of years ago, where "emo" was an emotional, powerful outburst of energy and not that
college-rock type of thing? Bands like Shotmaker, 400 Years, Age, Assay, Indian Summer and more, bands who moved
people and had a strong message besides the music. Well you can set Yage somewhere between those bands with an exception
that they do not sound "retro", mixing the classical influences with a good portion of modern sounded hardcore. Yage
ended as a band in august 2004.
