review(s):

very hip dance punk. both bands sound like they could have been all the rage at andy warhol's factory. come on, don't act like you don't know... infectious bouncy beats, all kinds of weird instruments, a bit on the hysterical side. all the fuckers that used to listen to hardcore and hang out in hip galleries now will dig this. does it mean it's not good? fuck no!

THE GOOD GOOD aus new york mit avantgardistischem noiserock mit female vocals, DEERHOOF und UZEDA lassen grüßen. JAPANTHER wie gewohnt mit überdrehtem und unkonventionellem artcore, rockt!

THE GOOD GOOD (great band name, by the way) is a fairly new band from brooklyn, new york. the good good is a trio but the range of instruments used on this recording is endless. the basic setup consists of bass, guitar and drums, but there's also triangle, megaphone, clarinet, accordion ... actually anything that makes a sound is an instrument for this crazygang. JAPANTHER's music best describedas experimental. each track ranges from hip-hop beats and sampling, tocinematic instrumentals, to angry, pounding, screaming, fuck you garagerock.

released for their european tour, this LIMITED EDITION split-single features 4 tracks of JAPANTHER's crazy smashing, art-damaged noise-punk, and one funky swinging song by THE GOOD GOOD.

i bought this when both bands played at the west berlin club which is a very strange run-down building with low ceilings. [monika’s] uta heller told me about the fantastic JAPANTHER and that i have to see them - a crazy drummer singing through a telephone, and a bass player. it was worth it, like the RAMONES in 2010. and i very much liked THE GOOD GODD, kind of like the no new york thing in the ‘80s. art-rock, or whatever you wanna call it.
